Dangers of a long listing term

How long is too long? When signing a listing agreement with a real estate agent, a listing term is to be negotiated. This listing term is the amount of time you have given your chosen agent to market and sell your home. Many times real estate agents may request 6 months to yearlong listing terms. Unless you are in a uniquely slow market, red flags should go up if a listing term is requested for over 6 months.
