Case Study: The Power of a Support System
Posted May 10th, 2016 by Clarissa Gregg

We recently assisted a homeowner who wanted to move to one of our partner retirement communities. Her home had been on the market for about 4 months when we began speaking with her. In those 4 months, there were only a couple of showings, but no real explanation why from her real estate agent. When this listing came to our attention, the first thing we noticed was that there were no interior photos! Having no interior photos can be a big red flag to buyers because it gives the impression that there is something seriously wrong with the property. A huge majority of home buyers today – over 90% – begin their searches online, if your home doesn’t have quality pictures, you risk buyers passing over your property thinking that it must need a lot of work. When we spoke with the seller, she had no idea that there were no photos showcasing her lovely home and beautiful location.

Once her listing agreement with her initial real estate agent expired, she decided to re-list her home with an agent recommended through a Moving Station program. Through the partnership and support provided by Moving Station, we made sure the property was presented in the best possible light and with the best marketing. A professional photographer took beautiful marketing pictures and the listing description highlighted the great features of the home. The homeowner was thrilled that after only a few weeks on the market with their new agent through our program, the house was sold!

It is always best to be cautious when selecting a real estate agent. While someone might seem great in the beginning, you never know how they will perform throughout the listing. With Moving Station’s help, we ensure that your agent is doing everything possible to make sure your home is shown at its best from the beginning!
